Sammy and Gary Hoag of Sammy’s Fly Shop will present GoPro footage of rare or endangered trout of the United States. Don’t miss this presentation where anglers will learn about these colorful trout and get practical tips to go fly fishing for these native species.
Sammy Hoag began fly fishing at 8 years old with his father, Gary. Sammy started tying flies at 10, tying in shows at 12, launched www.sammysflyshop.com at 14, began guiding and making fishing videos at 16, and founded “Sammy’s Fly Shop” as a licensed outfitter in the State of Colorado at 18. Together, Gary and Sammy, have caught fish with their fly rods all over the USA and around the world. Sammy’s favorite fish caught on flies he has tied include: shark, muskie, sailfish, peacock bass, and 27 species of trout/salmon. Gary celebrates the memories they have made fly fishing in 14 states and 8 countries including a recent adventure in New Zealand (where this photo was shot on their 2016 trip). Sammy will graduate from Colorado Christian University in May 2017 with a degree in Biology and lives in Lakewood. Gary holds a PhD, serves as a visiting professor at multiple schools and as an author. He lives in Littleton.
