Clear Creek Clean-Up Project – Saturday, September 16 2017
CLEAR CREEK CLEAN-UP PROJECT – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2017
This year our multi Chapter Stream Clean-Up Project will be in a new location, Anderson Park and the adjacent Water Wheel Park in Idaho Springs. These streamside Parks are located behind City Hall at 1711 Miner Street. This change was required since Courtney-Ryley-Cooper Park, our traditional site, will not be available due to road construction. Additionally, the Clear Creek Watershed Festival, which normally occurs on the same weekend as our Clean-Up Project, will not be held this year.
We will be teamed with volunteers from Cherry Creek Anglers and West Denver Chapters. We plan to work cleaning up the stream from Highway 119 in the East to Dumont on the West. We are in need of 30 to 50 volunteers (last year we had 46!!!) to help make this project a success. Please bring waders and work gloves. Garbage bags and safety vests will be provided.
To entice you to join us we will have Starbuck’s coffee and doughnuts at the Park @ 8:30AM before work starts at 9:00AM, AND for your participation you will earn a free Pizza lunch as well! THAT’S NOT ALL…., we will conclude our work with our traditional raffle, FEATURING GREAT FISHING ORIENTED PRIZES after lunch. Additionally, there is great fishing access to Clear Creek at Water Wheel, please join us for some post-project fishing as well.
