Program 1 – Coalition for the Upper South Platte “A Healthy Watershed…Now and in the Future”
CCTU has been working with CUSP on various projects since 2001. CUSP’s mission overlaps with Trout Unlimited’s in that they work to protect the water quality and ecological health of the Upper South Platte Watershed, through cooperative efforts of watershed stakeholders, with emphasis on community values & economic sustainability. Join us to learn how Coalition for the Upper South Platte came to fruition, as well as how CCTU has fostered both of our missions through various field projects together. In addition to learning about funding sources, we’ll discuss how CCTU’s contributions to CUSP have facilitated specific projects as well as general equipment needs that are not typically covered by grants. CUSP will present the scope of diverse projects it takes to protect the water quality within a watershed, including activities which are not commonly perceived to directly impact the health of the Upper South Platte including Fire mitigation & restoration, Flood mitigation after fires, Water & air monitoring, Mine reclamation, Mushroom experiments, Environmental education, and the Reintroduction of Greenback Cutthroat Trout.
Program 2 – Joe Butler – Overview of his new book “Dangers in the Outdoors”, Big Fish 2017 Review (Pyramid Lake, Ham’s Fork, Lake Ontario Tributaries)
