To volunteer for any of these projects or to find out the latest details email Jim Rasmussen or telephone him at (303) 773-2772

The purpose of this project is to restore several miles of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River upstream from the Tomahawk State Wildlife Area (SWA).

SOUTH PLATTE RIVER TRASH PICK UP (AND BBQ) - Sunday June 22nd (new date)
Pick up trash along the South Platte River near Deckers with CUSP.  After a few hours of trash collecting meet at Deckers for a BBQ with CUSP.

TRAIL CREEK FIRE RESTORATION - DATES NOT FIXED YET July 16 or 17 (Wednesday or Thursday), 2nd Work date Saturday, August 23
This will require a walk of a mile or more to get to work site. This is a Hayman fire restoration project with CUSP (Coalition for the Upper South Platte).   Since the Hayman fire, Trail Creek, near the community of Westcreek has dumped huge amounts of sediment into O.J. Hill Reservoir and eventually into the South Platte River through Horse Creek. This project is designed to minimize long term erosion and sedimentation in the Trail Creek Basin. Volunteer opportunities include planting native grasses, trees and shrubs.
