Saturday (also Wednesday) Fishing Schedule for 2010 - (updated March 25, 2010 )

Here is a partial list of the chapter's local area fishing trips for 2010. Harry Hall has agreed to coordinate the trips and find leaders to organize these single-day trips within a 2-3 hour drive from Littleton. If you are interested in organizing one or more of these day trips to your favorite stream, river or lake contact Harry at HarryCHall@comcast.net or (303) 221-0048. Leaders are needed for the months of May and September.

  • April - Saturday, April 24th - Arkansas River. Ray Carney, Duane Vandeventer and possibly John Greene will be the co-leaders for a unique trip to the Arkansas River featuring both walk/wade fishing (Duane/John) and raft-floating/fishing (Ray) opportunities. Participants should meet at 6:30 AM at the RTD parking lot on the corner of Hampden/Wadsworth and carpool down to the river. Ray has two rafts and needs a second experienced rafter to captain the second raft if there is enough interest. Those wishing to float the river (8 people max) will be accommodated on a first-come, first served basis by contacting Ray Carney (303) 972-2976 or email raythefly@aol.co.
  • May - A Trip leader is needed. contact Harry at HarryCHall@comcast.net or (303) 221-0048.
  • June - Two trips: 1) Pike fishing on Williams Fork Reservoir with John Aaron -date/details are TBD: 2) Wednesday, June 23rd Lily Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. This trip will be held in conjunction with the Front Range Flyfishers, one of the local Federation of Flyfishers groups. Lily Lake is a greenback cutthroat fishery and the date should be prime for the callibaetis mayfly hatch. Contact Richard Pilatzke 303-979-8425for more details on this trip. The gathering point for this trip will be the South Suburban Board of Realtors parking lot. The trips will depart from there at 7AM.
  • July - Wednesday, July 14th - Crystal Lake outside of Leadville. Crystal Lake is a great place for beginners and intermediate level fly fishers, and should be good for callibaetis, damsel, and terrestrial activity. This trip will also be held in conjunction with the Front Range Flyfishers, one of the local Federation of Flyfishers groups. Contact Richard Pilatzke 303-979-8425 for more details on this trip. The gathering point for this trip will be the South Suburban Board of Realtors parking lot. The trips will depart from there at 7AM.
  • August - Saturday, August 21st - Blue River with Kent Higgins (formerly a guide for Elk Trout Lodge). Participants will meet at 7 AM at our normal monthly meeting location (Southwest Realtors Building) and carpool to Silverthorne where all will meet Kent at the Police and Town Hall Building. Kent will provide more information as the date approaches including a hatch guide and suggestions for flies/sizes.
  • September -A Trip leader is needed. contact Harry at HarryCHall@comcast.net or (303) 221-0048.
