May ‘Come Fish with Us’ Program

May 27, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Lake Lehow fishermen
CCTU has started a new program for club members to explore some of the close, local lakes, ponds and streams. While we have great fishing in the mountains, there are numerous bodies of water close to home that the Colorado Parks & Wildlife stocks with catchable trout and warm water species throughout the year. CCTU will offer a Come Fish with Us program on one such local body of water each month from Spring to Fall. Some of the fishing will be on weekends, while others will be on weekday evenings as the days grow warmer and it stays lighter longer.

Beyond simply having fun and helping chapter members get to know each other better, these events are also designed to assist chapter members with their fly fishing evolution. Several of the chapter’s more experienced fly fishing members will attend these outings to answer questions, and offer tips, including help on casting, hooking, playing, and landing fish.

Our Second Event

Our second event will be at Lake Lehow on Friday, May 27th from 8am-12pm. Lake Lehow is a private stocked lake operated by the Denver Water Board and not open to the public. The lake is heavily stocked with trout and warm water fish. All fishing is catch & release with barbless hooks. While the lake is not large, it will accommodate 20-30 anglers.

We look forward to seeing you at Lake Lehow on Friday, May 27th. If you have any questions on this event, please contact CCTU Board Member David Coward at dpcoward@hotmail.com.
