This project includes: closing and restoring unsustainable social trails and improving existing trails. This will include no more than a one-mile hike at a moderate pace. Each volunteer will carry in their own water for the day, a sack lunch and a tool (tools will be provided).

Gill Trail, adjacent to Cheesman Canyon, accesses world-class fishing with beautiful canyon views and. Erosion from the Hayman Fire, heavy use and social trails greatly contributes to sediment in the Upper South Platte River and downstream water supplies. This project will help reduce this sedimentation, greatly benefiting fish and wildlife habitat as well as the watershed supplying over 75% Colorado’s water for drinking and agricultural needs.
